Pondok Tanjong FR is a lowland forest area situated about 24 km to the north of Taiping. About 140 species of birds have been recorded in this Important Bird Area which is one of the last few remaining freshwater swamp forests left in northern Peninsular Malaysia. We will be birding on foot along an old logging track to look for the uncommon species found in this special habitat including Blue-rumped Parrot, Black Hornbill, Red-throated Barbet and Black-throated Babbler.
Bring hat, water and snacks. This trip is not suitable for young children. Please call to confirm attendance.
